Summary: This Les Paul Standard is in excellent used condition, has a beautiful flame top with no pickguard and has just been setup and restrung with a new set of 10s by our in-house guitar tech. This beautiful Gibson plays effortlessly with low action, a straight neck, and perfectly smooth frets. This Les Paul ships in its original hard-shell case and we ship fully packed, padded and insured!
Body: The body is lightweight mahogany with highly flamed bound maple top and sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
Neck: Slim taper asymmetrical ‘60s profile mahogany neck with bound rosewood fingerboard with compound radius, trapezoidal inlays, 24 ¾” scale length and 1 11/16” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: The new Les Paul Standard' real surprises lurk in its upgraded pickups and extremely clever wiring and control setup. A pair of BurstBucker Pro pickups, a #1 in the neck position and #2 in the bridge, follow the blueprint for Gibson' hallowed PAF humbuckers of the late 50s, but are updated with potted coils for howl-free performance at high volumes, and four-conductor wiring that allows for incredible versatility.
The independent volume pot for each pickup has push-pull switching to independently split the coils for single-coil tones, with hum-cancelling performance in the middle position thanks to a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity bridge pickup. Pop up the neck pickup' tone control for reverse-phase tones, or lift the bridge pickup' tone knob to tap Gibson' new Pure Bypass setting, which routes that pickup straight through to the output jack, bypassing the volume and tone controls for a hotter, clearer sound.
The innovative pairing of a locking TonePros Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece ensures solid sustain and precise intonation, while a set of high-quality locking Grover kidney-button tuners ensures smooth, accurate tuning.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent used condition with no major blemishes to mention. There are a couple small dings on the top, some light pick scratches, light scratches on the back and a very small ding on the very tip of the headstock but overall it looks nearly pristine.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
