Summary: Starting in 1998, Gibson produced a double cutaway version of the Les Paul Standard known as the Les Paul DC Standard. The shape of this guitar is similar to that of the Les Paul Special from the late '50s. These guitars typically exhibited a highly figured maple top. This is an intense looking Gibson Les Paul! This Gibson Les Paul Standard DC is a lightweight dreamy looking & wonderfully playing guitar. This instrument comes with the original hard shell case & we recently set it up with a new set of 10’s.
Body: Solid body double cutaway with a mahogany body & a beautiful flame maple cap.
Neck: This is a mahogany neck with a fully bound rosewood fingerboard, block pearloid inlays, 24 frets, original Gold Grover tuning keys
Pickups/Hardware: Gold hardware, 2 humbucker pickups with gold covers, one volume knob, one tone knob, 3-way selector switch, Grover tuning machines, block inlays, 24 frets.
Cosmetics: This instrument is in fabulous shape – there are some pick scratches on the guitar & a few minor dings on the body but the beautiful flame maple outshines any imperfections on this guitar. The back of the instrument does have some buckle rash & a few dings in the finish. All wear is consistent with an instrument that has been played but loved for years.
Playability: We set this guitar up with a new set of 10’s and adjusted the neck so the action is low & it plays great up & down the fingerboard.
Weight: 7 lbs, 13 oz.
Case: This Gibson comes with the original hardshell Gibson case!
