Summary: Starting in 1998, Gibson produced a double cutaway version of the Les Paul Standard known as the Les Paul DC Standard. The shape of this guitar is similar to that of the Les Paul Special from the late '50s. These guitars typically exhibited a highly figured maple top but this one has more of a plain-top and it is super light-weight! This particular Gibson was also part of the “Lite” series featuring lighter weight guitars. This Gibson has recently been set up with a new set of 10’s and it will ship in the original Gibson hard shell case.

Body: Light-weight double cutaway solid body guitar with a mahogany body & a maple cap.

Neck: Mahogany body with a rosewood fingerboard, small block inlays, Gold Grover tuning keys, 1 11/16” nut width, 24.75” scale length, 24 frets. The frets are in good shape & have a ton of life left in them.

Pickups/Hardware: Gold hardware, original gold Grover tuning keys, small block pearloid inlays, 2 humbucker pickups, one volume knob, one tone knob, 3-way selector switch, tune-o-matic adjustable bridge & stop tailpiece.

Cosmetics: This Gibson is nearly 20 years old so it does show some normal signs of wear – there are some small dings & nicks in the body – one particular ding on the top of the guitar is pretty big but the finish is beautiful & most imperfections are hidden by the quality of the wood. The back doesn’t have much buckle rash but there are a few more small dings if you hold it in certain light & look at it close.

Playability: We set this instrument up with 10’s and the action is low & comfortable – the truss rod is fully working & the neck is straight – this instrument is super light & easy to play standing up!
