I had never owned or laid hands on a Historic Makeovers treated guitar until this week, and new there's two in stock - this and a 1958 reissue. This is the way this business goes for me - streaky - and this is a good streak to be on!
The Historic Makeovers process not only treats a Les Paul to a sweet, aged look and specs like a 50's Gibson, it also seems to improve playability. Both this and the R8 set up and play perfectly.
This lightweight example received the "Real Deal Series" treatment: "The guitar goes through our entire Deluxe Package: top carve, neck carve, vintage style truss rod, hot hide glue neck reset, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Retrospec inlays, Royalite binding, new frets, nylon nut, vintage correct finish, distressing, serial stamp, and headstock silkscreen.
