Up for sale, a 1962 Gibson LG-0 in excellent, 100% original condition. This clean and crack-free vintage Gibson is constructed out of solid mahogany, with a warm tone that has a boxy bark and detail that is distinctly Gibson. Great for fingerpicking and also a uniquely voiced instrument for acoustic ensembles, this LG-0 has solid projection and surprisingly crisp top end as well. We've had this LG-0 professionally setup here at our shop, Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, and the guitar has been dialed in with fresh 12-52 phosphor bronze strings and low, comfortable action.

The one-piece neck has a medium C shaped profile that borders on the more slender side of things, with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard and pearloid dot inlay. The original frets are intact, with plenty of height left and well rounded crowns. There is very light wear beneath the B and E strings on frets 1-4, but further up the board the frets are clean as can be, and the neck is straight with a responsive truss rod. In all registers the guitar plays cleanly, and there are no untoward buzzes or dead spots. The nut measures a full 1 11/16", perfect for easy chording and accurate lead work. On the headstock, the gold "Gibson" silkscreen logo is clean as can be, and the open-back strip tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well with their original white buttons.

The body features the plastic bridge used extensively on the LG-0 model, with the original saddle that has plenty of height left. Unlike many LG-0s, the bridge on this particular guitar sits flush with the top and shows no signs of lifting or shrinkage. There is also only minimal deflection of the top behind the bridge and all internal braces are secure. The mahogany top has stately tortoise binding, and the stock black pickguard and black bridge pins are intact as well. Cosmetically, this is a very lightly played and well cared for LG-0, with some light scuffs on the sides of the upper bout from storing in the case (the original cases had very thinly covered stapes to hold the leather hinges, often causing this light wear when they wore through) and light wear in the pick path on the bass side of the soundhole. Other light wear includes a few tiny nicks on the back and edges of the body, but as the photos show, this is a particularly clean vintage Gibson. The nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touchups or overspray, and it's worth restating that this is a crack-free guitar!

A modern heavy-duty hardshell case is included.
