Description

Vintage original 1951 Gibson LG-1 in orignal Sunburst finish. This one simply has that vibe, that look and feel of a vintage 1950s Gibson.

Batch number on the neck block inside dates the guitar to 1951.

Neck is nice and fat and plays great. Plays with a good low action and no buzz or issues.

Original wooden bridge. Early dark sunburst finish. Nice tortoise pickguard.

There is a small repaired sidetrack on the lower bout and a small repaired back crack as well.

All original with the exception of the truss rod cover which is newer.

A note: the headstock reads "Bill Trader". Bill Trader wrote "(Now and Then There's) A Fool Such as I," a popular song published in 1952. Recorded as a single by Hank Snow it peaked at number four on the US country charts early in 1953. "Fool Such as I"—as the song is sometimes known—has been recorded and released as singles several times, by artists as diverse as Jo Stafford, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and Baillie & the Boys.
We are not sure, but this appears to have been his guitar at some point. At least the headstock says so.

Comes with nice original alligator soft case.
