Vintage 1949 Gibson LG-2 Guitar

  • We checked with our friend, George Gruhn about this guitar. He says it is a late '49 by the headstock and work order number. The work order # is 4696 15. LG-2 is branded inside on the back center strip.

  • Red Spruce top under a traditional sunburst
  • This model was introduced in late 1942, with a rounded neck, and rounded heel
  • It sounds like tree! ┬áVery woody and with plenty of breath to the note
  • Ivoroid bindings, 1 stripe rosette
  • George believes the tuning machines are mid 1950 replacements (Kluson deluxe)
  • Rosewood fretboard with MOP dot markers
  • Rosewood bridge with vintage through saddle & pearl dot inlay
  • Black, plastic bridge pins
  • Scalloped, X-bracing
  • Mahogany neck with adjustable truss rod
  • Black headstock faceplate with Gibson "block" logo
  • Faux tortoiseshell pickguard
  • Non original, TKL Tweed hard shell case

    We ship Fedex ground insured, unless otherwise specified by the buyer. On finer instruments, we insist on overnight shipment for safe handling. Buyer pays shipping unless otherwise agreed upon. International shipments are via FedEx.

    Must have prior approval of return. Opened strings are not returnable. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your guitar, simply return it fully insured (with prior authorization) via shipping method we agree upon. When we receive the instrument in the same condition as when we shipped it, you will happily be issued a refund minus all shipping costs.
