Description

Hands down the best sounding acoustic in the shop right now! Tastefully worn and extremely cool 1943 Gibson LG-2 Banner in its original sunburst finish. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides and X-braced. This workhorse of an instrument has been well loved during its life. These WWII-era Gibson flat tops have become some of the most sought after acoustics out there! There was a steel shortage during the war, so some of these were made without truss-rods. To compensate they made the necks huge, and this one has a HUGE neck! It is also a fabulous sounding and dried out example of a coveted mid 40s Gibson flat top LG-2. Overall in very good condition for its age less some play wear, finish checking and various dings/dents. There is some bubbling on the headstock, a professionally repaired back crack and some spots in the finish from stickers placed on the guitar at one point. Comes with a non original hard case.
