Description

Up for sale a powerful sounding X-braced 1951 Gibson LG-3. LG-2s and LG-3s are among our most favorite small bodied guitars. The LG-2 and LG-3 are essentially the same guitar with the LG-2 having a sunburst finish and the LG-3 having a natural finish.

This guitar is all-original except for a bridge reglue and replaced tuner buttons. It’s in excellent condition, especially considering it’s over 60 years old. The fingerboard has very little wear and the position marker dots are clean and bright. Great neck angle and it plays well up and down the neck. Head stock and logo are nice and clean with only minor edge wear.

Beautiful age-checked finish with just a smattering of small dings here and there. Just enough to let you know this guitar is the real thing, but nothing that detracts from its vintage loveliness.

But most importantly this is a great sounding and playing instrument. You’ll be surprised how loud such a modest sized guitar can be. And the tone is the best of what Gibson acoustics are known for. It’s a great one.
