Description

In thinking about this guitar the best description I can give is this, The guitar was purchased new in 1942 by a young man who then went into the U.S. armed forces like so many of the time without regards to their own personal sacrifices. He carried this guitar throughout the Pacific war campaign ans as providence would have it returned after the war with guitar in tow. The original owner by obvious repair work cared for the instrument as evident by a professionally repaired "E" string crack properly addressed and in my opinion a replaced bridge plate, I can not be for certain it was war time but the bridgeplate is BRW and not maple as I would expect. After some time the guitar was given to his niece from whom I purchased the guitar. The niece not being a guitar player but a trained concert pianist subsequently laid this old girl to rest in approximately 1965 where she has sat in a closet since. After much internal deliberation she finally contacted me stating "the guitar as much as it means to me needs to be played and appreciated" I agree. I then had the guitar re fretted as the original frets were quite worn with larger modern playable frets and had a scratch on the back drop filled and buffed out. Wonderful is the description I can give about her tonality Unlike the LOO sized guitars this guitar just rings , chords sound full and rich and unlike most smaller bodied guitars when you dig into her she just comes alive and begs for more. Nice full neck profile and truss rod equipped and truly a "Veteran" in her own right.New tuner buttons, frets, case and strings ...all else original.
