2008 Gibson LPR-8 Murphy Aged Goldtop Goldtop, Very Good, Original Hard case

Summary: This is a real-deal 2008 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul LPR-8 1958 'Aged Historic' Reissue Gold Top. Only 75 were made worldwide, and this one is #43 out of 75! Pre-aged by Tom Murphy at the Gibson Custom facility and built by Master Builder Edwin Wilson – both names appear on the COA inside this awesome vintage Lifton style Gibson case with purple interior! This Goldtop has some incredible & wonderful checking on the top & it sounds and plays great.

Body: Solid-body electric guitar with a carved figured maple top, a non-weight-relieved mahogany back with single ply cream binding on the top.

Neck: One piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon, 22 frets & a rosewood fingerboard with Acrylic trapezoid inlays. This neck has a 1958 rounded profile. The frets are in great shape and have a ton of life left in them. The nut width is 1 11/16” and the scale length is 24.75”. The tuning keys have been changed to Grover tuners but the original Gibson Deluxe tuning keys are included in this deal. No extra holes were drilled when the Grover tuners were installed so it should go back to being original very easily.

Pickups/Hardware: Custom Shop PAF pickups, chrome hardware, 3-way switch, ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum tailpiece.

Cosmetics: This Custom Shop Gibson is in wonderful shape with very little wear. All marks appear to be part of the Murphy aging process.

Playability: This guitar plays incredible – the tone is Huge, the action is low with no buzzing or dead spots. The frets are in great shape and they have a ton of life left in them.

Mods/Repairs: The original Gibson Deluxe tuning keys have been replaced with Grover tuners, however, the original tuners will be included in the case….

Case: Original hard shell Lifton-style case with COA, case keys and an extra pickguard are all included.
