Summary: The 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue features all the painstaking historic construction methods of the famous '59 Reissues with a few historically-accurate spec differences that allow it stand on its own. Like the 1958 originals, it has narrow frets which help more of the fingerboard wood to be heard in the tone profile. It also has a round, chunky neck profile for a full feel and maximum bending leverage. And finally it has a beautiful plain maple top; each is unique and full of character. This particular instrument was made at the end of 2014 & the original hang tag has a date of Jan 2015.
Body: Solid body, single cutaway Les Paul with a mahogany body & a maple cap. This is a Lemon burst plain top but this one does have a little bit of flame in the maple. The top is fully bound.
Neck: Mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard, block pearloid inlays, 22 frets, 24.75” scale length, 1.687” nut width, 12” radius, Historic Gibson Narrow/Tall frets, Kluson style tuning keys,
Pickups/Hardware: 2 Custom-bucker pickups, nickel hardware, 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, 3-way switch, ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum stop bar, Kluson style tuning keys, Butyrate Gold Top Hats, Authentic Stepped 2-Ply truss rod cover, Amber Catalin switch cap, CTS 500K Audio Taper Potentiometers, Paper-in-Oil Capacitors
Cosmetics: This 2015 Gibson didn’t see much play in its’ short lifetime – the frets are in great shape – the instrument does have a little bit of buckle rash on the back & I do see some small dings on the top but they are very hard to see unless you have it up close & you hold it in the light. This guitar shows a lot of color bleed onto the binding on the neck & near the upper bout of the guitar…..
Playability: This fabulous instrument plays great – we set it up with a new set of 10’s – adjusted the neck & made sure the action was low – its ready to be loved and played for years & years.
Weight: 8 lbs, 10 oz.
Case: This wonderful Gibson comes with the original and totally awesome Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-Latch hard shell case and the Certificate of Authenticity.
