Description

Summary: This little Gibson was made in 1959, built right along-side one of the most iconic guitars of all time- The 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard. It features a 23” scale length, mahogany construction, set neck, single coil pickup and wrap-around bridge. The compact body holds tight to your body and resonates really well. It is all original, looks and plays great thanks to a pro setup and a new set of 10s. It even ships in its original alligator skin chipboard case with gold Gibson logo!

Body: Lightweight mahogany body with sunburst finish.

Neck: 23” scale length mahogany neck with 19 frets, pearloid dots, rosewood fingerboard, 1 9/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Single coil pickup in the bridge position, volume, tone, black knobs, 3 on a plate tuning keys with white buttons, aluminum wrap around tailpiece.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape but does show some normal signs of use. There is some finish missing on the bottom edge of the headstock edge, likely from hanging on a guitar hanger, lots of finish chips around the edge of the fingerboard edge, lots of light weather checking in the finish and light pick scratches, some small dings around the edge of the body and a few scratches in the back of the body. There are no breaks, cracks or visible repairs to mention.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
