2015 Gibson Memphis '63 ES 335 Block Wildwood Spec Vintage Natural
Offered here is one of our favorite Gibson models, one that many folks refer to as their "old style" '63 ES 335 Block Reissue. This version of the '63 ES 335 was introduced in 2013 as their "50th Anniversary" model. It is (was) built using original tooling and machines and is much more like the original upon which it is based with a more accurate body shape, nylon saddles, constructed with natural hide glues, a lighter center block and it is given a VOS (light aging) treatment which makes it look, feel and play more like a vintage instrument. Gibson continued making this model beyond 2013 due to popular demand. This 2015 Vintage Natural example (serial number 51486) was a built specifically for Wildwood Guitars of Colorado.
This guitar has a medium/chunky C-shaped neck with depth measurements of .835" at the first fret increasing to .990" at the twelfth fret. This example is nice and light weighing just 7 pounds, 14 ounces. It has: a 24.75" string scale; a 1.70" nylon nut; a 12" radius fretboard made of nicely figured rosewood; Gibson MHS humbucker pickups; and an ABR-1 bridge with stop bar tailpiece. It has the aforementioned Vintage Natural nitrocellulose lacquer finish over a lightly flamed laminate body, with cream binding, aged hardware and the lightly aged VOS treatment.
This guitar looks and feels fabulous and it plays superbly. The tone is even fatter and more woody than usual for this model; check out the provided sound sample and I think you will agree. Even better, check out the video of the "infamous" Greg Koch playing this exact guitar.
Built in 2015, this guitar has seen little play and has no flaws of any significance aside from the factory VOS aging and patina. Very light scuffing on the pickguard is all I can find. The frets look like new. It comes in it's similarly nice custom case with the gold lining, along with the certificate of authenticity.
When last available, Wildwood offered these at (gulp) $5,799! Get this near mint 2015 example for more than $2K less. What a great Gibby - make it yours!

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
