Summary: Gibson started the “Nighthawk” family in 1993 incorporating radical changes from the traditional Gibson Les Paul design. The Nighthawk still uses a traditional mahogany body with a maple top, however, this series of guitars added some Fender-like traits such as the 5 way switch, single coil pickups & a thinner body. This 1994 Gibson Nighthawk looks incredible & it plays and sounds great. This Gibson is a Nighthawk Special DSN3 in ebony.

Body: Solidbody single-cutaway mahogany body with a maple top and cream body binding.

Neck: Set mahogany neck with 22 frets, a rosewood fingerboard & pearl dot inlays. The frets on this guitar are in great shape & have a ton of life left in them. The rosewood fingerboard looks great and feels wonderful. This Gibson has a 25.5” scale length & the nut width is 1 9/16”.

Pickups/Hardware: Gold hardware, pearl Gibson logo inlay, one Firebird mini-humbucker pickup (neck) and one slanted exposed humbucker pickup (bridge), an additional NSX single coil in the middle position, a push/pull tone control, two knobs (v, tone), five-way pickup switch, pearl dot inlays, Gibson Deluxe tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This instrument looks nearly perfect from across the room, however, when you hold it in your hands you can see very light pick scratching from being well-played over the past 20 years. There are also numerous tiny scratches on the back of the guitar consistent with an instrument from the mid-1990’s. Overall this guitar is in great shape with no structural damage and no wear that can be seeing from a foot or two away.

Playability: This 1994 Gibson plays & sounds awesome – the action is low & the guitar plays with no buzzing or dead spots. This instrument has been set up with 10’s by our in-house technician & it is ready to be played & loved.

Weight: 7 lbs, 1 oz.
