Description

1978 Gibson RD Artist electric guitar in GLOSS BLACK FINISH with the Artist MOOG electronics - serial number 71358xxx - with original Gibson red lined hardshell case, all in very good condition. This Vintage RD Artist is 100% stock and original with original large and fat frets, and is a solid 8 out of 10 in terms of condition. This RD has been played, for sure, but not abused. There are scratches and dings and some chips through the finish - and one chip to the edge of the headstock and binding - see photo. The original gold plated parts show some wear from gigging, but this is the type of 'relic vibe' that people are paying thousands to have various custom shops recreate. But this one is REAL. The black finish is the most desirable finish on the RD guitars - and with the worn gold plated parts, this one has the same classy cool badass vibe that a 70s black Les Paul Custom has. You know what I mean. A previous owner etched his last name and ss# onto the back of the headstock and the back of the neck heel. This RD, around the shop, has now become known as 'The Newman'. More photos available - call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description. Thanks.
