Summary: The SG Special 2016 HP is the no-frills, hard rocking version of the SG Standard HP.
While keeping true mother of pearl inlays as a visual signature of the HP series, the SG Special focuses like a laser on its remarkable high-performance features.

Body: Mahogany double cutaway body with a beautiful satin cherry finish.

Neck: Maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, pearloid small block inlays, Zero-fret titanium nut, 1.745” nut width, 12” radius, 24.75” scale length.
Pickups/Hardware: 2 Gibson Tribute Alnico II mini humbucking pickups, 2 volume knobs, 2 tone knobs, 3-way switch, black pickguard, Gibson Deluxe tuning keys, chrome hardware.

Cosmetics: This instrument has lots of scratching on the pickguard & there is an extra hole someone added on the back upper horn for a strap button but otherwise this guitar is in great shape.

Playability: We put a new set of 10’s on this baby & made sure the action is low & the guitar plays great up & down the fingerboard. The nut width is larger than the normal Gibson nut width so you have to get used to playing with a wider fingerboard but it makes fingerpicking a breeze!

Modifications: Missing the truss rod cover. Original G-force auto tuners were taken off & replaced with traditional Gibson Deluxe tuning keys.

Weight: 6 lbs, 14 oz.
