Offered for sale;
Used 1965 Gibson SG Junior serial number 356631.
This guitar is in excellent condition, neck and frets are fine, cosmetically showing some “nicks & marks” here and there, the expected patina for an instrument of its age that has been played but not abused.
Born with a Stop Tailpiece wrap around bridge. At some point a Tune-O-Matic bridge and separate Stop Tailpiece was professionally installed. It has since been professionally restored back to the single wrap around Stop Tailpiece bridge/tailpiece (non-original).
Most of the date codes on both pots are visible: 137642[x] and 13764[xx]. The solder appears to be virgin except for the ground buss to the bridge.
The SG Junior was a simple version of the SG introduced as a student-level guitar in 1961 (as the SG/ Les Paul Junior). The SG Junior used a single P-90 pickup and single-piece bridge/tailpiece. Starting in late 1965, a vibrato tailpiece was made standard.
Features include an all mahogany body and neck with a rosewood fingerboard. Dual cutaways, single P-90 pickup, volume and tone controls and pre-batwing pickguard.
The basic simplicity of this straight ahead design contributes greatly to the personality of these juniors. Less is more!
These iconic instruments have had many notable players including but not limited to: Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Derek Trucks, and Jeff Tweedy.
Own a piece of solid body guitar history!
Original hard shell case included.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship. If you decide to purchase this guitar, please let us know what gauge strings you prefer.”
*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
