Summary: The Gibson SG Jr. is a simply refined version of the SG, or rather a formidable little sister to the Les Paul Jr. Either way, it’s a rock machine with one single P-90 pickup in the bridge, solid mahogany construction and a lot of soul! This one is in beautiful shape, with just a bit of honest play wear, is all original but has a replacement bridge on it now (original bridge and mounting studs in case) and it ships in its original chipboard case. The CTS pots date to 1965 and the solder joints have never been disturbed. It has just been set up and restrung with a new set of 10s, the action is low, the neck is straight and the frets are in wonderful shape!

Body: It has a solid mahogany, double-cutaway body, with the original cherry finish and b/w/b pickguard.

Neck: The mahogany neck has a beautiful rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, pearloid dots, bone nut, 24.75” scale length and 1.65” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: It has the original dog-ear P-90 in the bridge position, intonated wrap-around tailpiece, black reflector knobs, Kluson Deluxe tuning keys with white buttons and original strap buttons.

Cosmetics: This SG is in excellent vintage condition. There’s a lot of finish checking around the body and neck, lots of pick scratches on the pickguard, some minor chips on the edges of the fretboard (mostly on the treble side), and a couple small chips on the end of the headstock and some chips in the body and edge of horn. The most notable wear is some pick scratching on the top contour edge (above the pickguard) and some cracks in the pickguard. There is one piece of the pickguard that is missing. The G string tuning peg is bent a bit, but it still operates just fine. Overall this guitar is in great shape, has never had a headstock break and it has no breaks, cracks or visible repairs.

Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots.

Modifications: It has a replacement bridge and studs installed but the originals are included in the case.

Weight: 5 lbs, 13 oz.

Case: This beautiful vintage SG ships in its original Gibson chipboard case with red plush interior and we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured!
