Description
Gibson’s solid body electric guitar line in the 1960s consisted of four trim levels for essentially the same guitar body: Junior, Special, Standard and Custom. The Special was outfitted with a pair of P-90 pickups, dot fret board inlays, neck binding, and attractive pearl Gibson logo on the headstock. Vintage Gibson P-90 pickup fanatics have long since enjoyed the Special’s tone, playability, and affordable vintage price point.

This late 1965 Gibson SG Special has survived in very nice condition and is ready to be played. All parts are original to the guitar except for an updated (larger) pickguard, tremolo arm bushing/screw, and replacement case. This guitar shows no signs of prior breaks or repairs. The frets show little wear and appear to have a full life ahead of them. The guitar weighs 6 lbs 15 oz and the nut width is exactly 1 77/128″s (40.61mm) according to my digital calipers.
