Description

Freshly set up in-house by our esteemed Guitar Tech, this vintage SG Standard is dialed in and ready to rock the night away. In Very Good+ condition with very modest wear and tear for an instrument of this age. There is one small nick on the lower left front bout, but other than that just a very light patina of wear and some aging of parts and finish. In short, it's remarkably clean for a 50+ year old instrument.

Dating this guitar was a bit of a challenge. It does not bear a "MADE IN USA" stamp nor does it have a volute. The serial number is in a range that has some variances but generally indicates 1968. But the guitar has original pots that date to 1970. We're guessing this might be a guitar that was issued from the Gibson factory in 1970 but was originally assembled in 1968. Please contact us in the shop if you have any questions or want a complete in-hand description before making a purchase decision. We're happy to help and we want you to be comfortable with the vintage attributions.

The instrument is all original including the original soft shell case. Also comes with the original hang tags. We wish we didn't have to say good-bye to this wonderful guitar, but our loss is your gain. Don't snooze on this one.

NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage products as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.

We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
