2020 Gibson SG Standard '61 Vintage Cherry

Excellent condition featuring double cutaway asymmetrical mahogany body, two Burstbucker humbucking pickups, two volume controls and two tone controls with reflector top knobs, three way pickup selector switch with cream tip and black poker chip, small multi-ply black pickguard, ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, Gibson open book peghead, black peghead face with Gibson and crown shaped pearl inlays, bell shaped multi-ply black truss rod cover, Kluson Deluxe vintage style tuners with keystone buttons, serial number and Made in USA impressed into the back of the peghead, nickel plated metal hardware, Vintage Cherry red stain finish, two metal strap buttons, and original hard shell case with case candy. This guitar weighs 7lb 6oz.

This 2020 Gibson SG Standard '61 reissue is in fantastic cosmetic and playing condition. There is one very small ding on the top corner of the headstock (see photos). This guitar has been professionally set up and plays like a dream up and down the fretboard. The frets show hardly any signs of play wear and have loads of life left in them. The neck profile is that of a 1961 Gibson carve and is thin and fast feeling with nice shoulders and a flat center. The bridge position pickup brings thunderous rock tones with a biting edge. The neck position pickup is fat and clear and perfect for clean tones and heavy overdriven sounds. The finish is very well done and the mahogany used for the body has very nice figure. The rosewood used on the fingerboard is of the dark variety and the new inlay material looks fantastic. This guitar shows very few signs of play wear - a few pickguard scratches here and there, but nothing serious. All in all, a fantastic offering from the Gibson guitar company and a faithful reissue of the 1961 Gibson Les Paul SG with a few modern upgrades. A perfect guitar for any SG lover.
