The Standard Historic 1958 Standard Les Paul from Gibson Custom delivers the tone, looks and feel of the original ’58, the first of Gibson’s now-infamous Sunburst models. It features hand-crafted beauty, authentic vintage Gibson tone and historic appointments – such as historically accurate aniline dye, hide glue neck construction and the renowned sound transference that comes with its long neck tenon. The most important details that made the original a legend are artfully revived, for a convincing vintage playing experience.
This gorgeous Les Paul is in VG condition, with light wear (including a ding by the bottom strap button, and a small ding near the pickup selector) and an estimated 90% remaining fret life. Please note that, because of the historically accurate techniques intentionally used to apply this guitar's finish, there is aniline dye bleed on the binding of the neck and body. This is especially pronounced on the bass side of the neck (see photos) but it is not a manufacturing defect. Most guitarists will realize that this is an authentic and not necessarily undesirable side effect, with no effect on playability or value, and enjoy the guitar for the amazing instrument that it is.
