Description

Gibson tenor guitar from 1935, the era of the best Gibson sunbursts!. The development of the tenor guitar allowed banjo players the ability to jump to guitar as musical tastes evolved through the '30s.
Spruce top, mahogany back (flat) and sides, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard and bridge (with adjuster wheels). Original banjo-style tuners.
This guitar has been well played through it life, but is structurally intact and original. To accommodate a floating pickup, the pick guard had been trimmed near the bridge. There is also a strap holder screw hole in the side, bass side, near the heel. A crack at the bass-side f-hole has been glued, there are two back cracks, one glued, one open, and the lower portion of the center seam has separated. The guitar shows play wear on the top, and other sundry nicks, dings and scratches from time and use. Frets are good, neck is straight, and there is an adjustable truss rod.
Scale length is 23 1/16", and the lower bout measures 14 3/4" across at the widest. Comes with a soft case.
