Summary: The Gibson Thunderbird has the classic reverse body and headstock design as originally introduced in 1963 as Gibson's first neck-through-body bass design. The traditional 9-ply mahogany/walnut neck through body construction provides a thundering low end response and a piano like sustain. The narrow nut width and rounded neck profile neck feels both fast and intuitive. The Thunderbird high output, ceramic magnet loaded humbucking pickups (neck and bridge) deliver the sonic and iconic low end voice for which the Thunderbird is known. This particular Thunderbird bass has been loved and played with the upmost care of in its short life. It ships in its original hard-shell case with all the case candy.

Body: It has a 9 ply walnut/mahogany body with a raised mid-section to accentuate the neck through body construction, tobacco burst finish and 3-ply white pickguard with thunderbird logo.

Neck: The neck is 9 ply walnut/mahogany that is neck-through-body construction for immense sustain and true to the originals. It has a rosewood fretboard, 34” scale length, 20 medium jumbo frets, graph-tech nut, 1.5” nut width, pearl dots and black Grover tuners.

Pickups/Hardware: The neck pickup is a Rhythm T-Bird and the bridge pickup is a Lead T-Bird. It has all black hardware, Babicz 3-point-bridge, 2 volumes and 1 tone knob.
Cosmetics: This bass looks like it was barely played and kept in its case most of its life.

Playability: Our in house luthier inspected and set this guitar up with low action, made sure the neck was straight & the truss rod was fully working. This Gibson bass plays great up and down the fingerboard. It is strung up with black flat-wound strings.
