The Trini Lopez name has long been associated w/the Gibson Guitar Co. for many years as he was endorsed by them since 1964. He was an amazing player & performer so much so, he had 2 guitars w/his name on it. They made a 335 type guitar w/his signature diamond F-holes & they made this fabulous sharp cutaway Arch Top model in far less #’s then the thinner bodied 335 model. This example has a lovely Cherry Sunburst finish over a figured maple body w/some flamey maple all over. Its got a 1 piece mahogany neck w/Trini’s signature Firebird shaped headstock w/a rather full sized feel w/a set of factory Grover tuners. Its rosewood fingerboard is adorned w/a pair of triangular inlays as each fret marker. Its orange label is still clean & in place. Its white bound tortoise’gard pulls it all together. These also have a tun-a-matic bridge w/nylon saddles & chrome capped gold knobs, but this has a nice reproduction Trini Lopez tailpiece w/its wooden insert w/his name in it. Its wooden bridge has 2 tiny holes that was at 1 time screwed in place to its top to keep it intonated. This has some slight weather checking but very little play time. Its really exceptionally clean overall & comes in its original Black/yellow lined hard case.
