Offered here is an example of perhaps the pinnacle of the work of the Gibson Custom Shop as Les Paul reissues go, a 2016 True Historic Aged '59. As LP aficionados know, the Gibson Custom Shop True Historics with the hand-wet-sanded historically accurate finishes are no longer being manufactured - too expensive to produce. As such, examples of the full-blown 'True Historics', particularly the factory aged examples like this one, are sure to be sought-after in the years to come.
This very special instrument was built to the full-blown True Historic specifications, including the wet, hand-sanded finish which you can no longer get. It has a C-shaped neck with moderate shoulders and depth measurements of .900" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth fret. The pickups are Gibson's best Custom Buckers. This highly flamed guitar was finished to look like the LP featured on page 96 of 'Beauty of Burst.' It weighs just 8.2 pounds (8 pounds, 3 ounces), albeit with the plastic control cover in place versus the metal True Historic medallion. Equally important, it is superbly balanced.
This guitar was lightly aged at the factory to make this guitar look and feel like an authentic vintage LP. It looks and feels like the real deal. Even the Lifton-style reissue case has been aged for this very special model.
It plays and sounds as good as it looks too. The setup is low and buzz-free and it sounds great too. Listen to the included sound sample and I trust you will agree.
This guitar comes with it's original aged Lifton-style reissue case with the certificate and all the original paperwork. A few of these 2015 and 2016 Aged True Historics can still be found new at dealers selling for $8,999. Even if you can find one, however, you aren't likely to find one this light in weight or with a top as nicely flamed as this one. Get this near new and very light example of this now 'extinct' model for $2K less than new.

Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
