Description

In response to popular demand, Gil Yaron is now building a limited number of classic S and T-style guitars made with his own headstock shape. Offered here is the very first example, serial number 6 0001, completed in May of 2016. This fabulous guitar is Gil's take on a well-played '62 Strat-style guitar.

This incredible guitar has a very lightweight body made old-growth Alder. The guitar has a total weight of just 7.0 pounds and is finished in two-tone nitrocellulose lacquer. The neck is made from 100+ year old reclaimed Maple w12ith a 60's C-shape and depth measurements of .85" at the 1st fret increasing to .96" at the 12th fret. The fingerboard is pre-CITES era Brazilian Rosewood with a 9.5" radius, 1.675" nut and medium frets. It has a period-correct tremolo bridge and saddles and and vintage-style split shaft tuners. The electronics consist of Gil's own hand-wound, wax potted single coils with vintage output along with VTT, five-way switching with all wiring and components of the highest quality.

As with all of his replica models, the historical authenticity of this guitar is incredible. Gil spent years finding the vintage tools, materials and building methods necessary to assemble his replicas with such accuracy. The look and feel of this guitar is dripping with vintage vibe. Listen to the crude sound sample provided and I think you will agree that the tone is incredibly accurate and faithful to that of a vintage Strat as well.

This guitar was given Gil's heavy distressing (a very expensive option because of the extensive labor time involved) and the result is incredibly realistic. This aging aside, this instrument is in fabulous condition and the frets show little to no observable wear. It comes in a tweed G&G hardshell case.

This is a fabulous, vintage style Yaron-built instrument and is among the most authentic Strat-style guitars available at any price. Press the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours before I give-in and add this amazing S to my personal collection!
