Summary: The Gil Yaron Bone has become one of the most desired instruments in the game today, and for good reason. The body and neck feel as one with brilliant resonance and sustain with every note as you play it. Every nook and cranny of this guitar has been perfected and it really shows in its playability and tone. It has a gorgeous flame maple top and patented Bone PUs, based on the '50s PAF with wider tonality range which sound phenomenal. Overall this guitar is a work of art - it’s lightweight, sounds amazing and sports classic timeless looks. It has been gently played but was kept in great shape and ships in its original hard-shell case.
Body: Solid lightweight old growth mahogany body shell with solid paulownia or balsa inner body fill and a figured maple top (Private stock maple tops, exhibition grade figured maple and/or '50s reclaimed maple) with cream binding.
Neck: The mahogany neck feels nice and full yet not too thick, similar to ‘50s Les Paul profile. It has a bound rosewood fingerboard with tortoise side dots, pearl face dots, nylon nut, 1 5/8” nut width, 24 ¾” scale length and nickel Gotoh 510 tuners with butterbean pegs.
Pickups/Hardware: Gil Yaron winds his own pickups specific to each guitar, these are his own design which have a PAF voice but with a wider frequency response. It has 4 gold vintage LP style knobs, 50s style LP wiring with Gil Yaron branded capacitors, 3-way toggle and high quality wrap around tailpiece with individual saddles for precise intonation. All the hardware, components and wiring used are of the highest quality.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape but does show some minor signs of use. There is a small dent in the binding on the end of the bottom horn which has cracked a small amount of the lacquer (see picture), there are some scratches on the pickguard and some minor scratches on the back of the guitar. Overall this guitar is in fine condition and has been well cared for.
Playability: Our in house luthier has inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s and it is playing beautifully. The action is nice and low, the neck is straight, the frets are polished smooth with no gouges and it plays effortlessly all the way up and down the fingerboard with tons of resonance and sustain.
