The PMB1000 is an upgraded model of the PMB800, which was sold at the same time. The body of the 800 was made of maple laminate, but the 1000 is made of veneer.
The PMB1000 is a high-quality copy of the original model, equipped with a stereo sound jack modeled after the RICK-O-SOUND jack, but with a thicker bass and more attacky sound that is easier to handle than the original, it is no wonder that it has a strong fan base!
