This early-to-mid 1954, 17-inch-wide, 4 1/3-inch deep, jumbo flat top weighs just 5.70 lbs. Two-piece, straight-grained spruce top with double-bound triangular sound hole, One-piece, lightly flamed laminated rock maple back and maple sides. Four-ply binding on the body top and bottom and single-ply binding on the neck. Two-piece rock maple neck with mahogany center-strip, a nut width of just over 1 3/4 inches, a wonderful medium-to-thick profile, and a scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Brown faced headstock with pearloid Gretsch "T-roof" logo. Two-layer black over white plastic dome-shaped truss-rod cover with three screws. Individual open-back Grover StaTite tuners with oval metal buttons. Bound rosewood fretboard with 21 original thin frets and pearloid block position markers. Original four-layer black over white beveled plastic pickguard with four screws. Compensated, height-adjustable rosewood bridge on specific shaped rosewood base and slanted 'ridged' metal bar tailpiece. Inside the sound hole is the original Gretsch rectangular white label with the model number "6021" stamped in black, and the serial number stamped in red. There are a few very small and insignificant surface marks on the body but overall the guitar is in exceptionally fine (9.00) condition. Housed in the original? Lifton, four-latch, shaped gray hardshell case with brown padded felt lining (9.00). (#1782)
