1967 Gretsch 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean with simulated f-holes and other features
Released in 1958, the 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean was originally marketed as the 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean and later changed its name to the Tennessee Rose after the end of the monitoring contract with Chet Atkins. This model was named after a song by Chet Atkins, who was Gretsch's endorser at the time, and has been loved by many famous musicians since its release, and is still a popular Gretsch model. The 16-inch archtop body with full hollowbody construction is equipped with a single pickup, the Hi-Lo Tron, which was born around 1958, and produces THE Gretsch sound with bright and clear highs and warm but not too thick mids and lows. Dynamic vibrato technique with large fluctuation of sound is also attractive. The neck has been reset and refretted at our store, and the strength of the joint part is also fine, and the playability is very good. This is a one-of-a-kind instrument that has established its own unique taste and sound, and is now used in a wide range of genres, not only country.
