Description

Early Gretsch 6120. This is a museum grade guitar-a few scratches away from mint. It shows no checking, no dings or dents and only the very lightest scratches on the back and some light scratches around the bridge base. The frets are original and show very light wear. What makes this an early one? Cows and cactus inlays, G brand, steer head on the headstock, little truss rod cover, gold fixed arm Bigsby and gold bridge. Vibrant Gretsch orange finish shows no wear or fade. I can pretty much guarantee you won't find a cleaner early 6120. It is, I believe, all original (I don't see many of these so I don't consider myself anywhere near an expert). Gretsch has always been a little odd with hardware. The switches and knobs are nickel but the Bigsby and bridge are gold. But the bridge posts and thumbwheels are nickel. Pickups are Dynasonics, tuners are open back Grovers (Waverly's?). No binding issues at all. Case is tweed and likely original.
