Here's a 1956 Gretsch 6120 in original Amber Red finish. This is a very rare example, as it has a factory "Break-Away" style Bigsby. This was Gretsch's first attempt to get away from the restrictive fixed arm style, with very few ever being made. This is because the arm did not accommodate the control knob layout, but more specifically, the neck volume control. In order to use that knob, players would just remove it (the knob is not original to this guitar). Eventually this was replaced with the more common cast arm "Duane-Style" style Bigsby. We will include that style of Bigsby with the purchase, so if preferred, you can put that on without messing with the integrity of the body. As for the rest of the guitar....G-Brand, cactus inlays, steer head motif logo headstock, with dual DeArmond Dynastic pickups. This 6120 example is a very clean! The only wear is the patch of buckle rash on the back. No breaks, cracks, repairs. Binding fully in tact. Playability is exceptional, with low action down the fingerboard. Both pickups are strong, full and sound fantastic!! Outstanding piece, and truly a piece of Gretsch history. OHSC included!
