This has got to be 1 of the wildest transitional solid body Chet Atkins ever produced, its Orange finished Top has faded quite nicely over time, same with its natural mahogany back, sides & neck, its equipped with a very potent pair of “PAF” Filter’tron pickups wrapped by a set sculpted gold plastic bezels, its got its original gold open back tuners & 3 “G” stamped knobs, its Gold Lucite pickgard has no sign post logo, but is etched w/a “GP” & believed to have been owned at one time by “Gram Parsons” of the Flying Burrito Brothers Band many years ago, its factory Bigsby Vibrato & matching metal bridge work very well, what makes this 6121 so hip is it has the ultimate cool block inlays with “Cow & Cactus” etching on only 4 inlays as made in c.1955, its label was from a 6120 & w/a pen changed the 0 to a 1…obviously its larger sibling was stated to have this serial # but it matches its etched in # on its control cavity cover, Gretsch was a very funny company, other than its body being rebound front & back (rather perfectly), this is the only example as equipped like this & it is true to say it is a 1 of 1 that has been produced, she is 100% original in all other respects, she’s rather excellent overall & comes with its original gray speckled hard case.
