Description

This is an unusual opportunity to acquire a very special Gretsch White Penguin replica using an original 1955 6128 Duo Jet as a donor. It started out as a black Jet bearing the serial # 15081. It was completely transformed into a fabulous 1955 White Penguin having all of its original features including its White finish, gold sparkle bindings on its headstock, neck, both sides of its body, truss rod cover & heel cap, correct headstock shape sporting correct gold sparkle vertical Gretsch logo, engraved Hump Top inlays, D’Armond pickups w/original pots, Grover Imperial tuners, proper Penguin lucite pickgard, Melita bridge, Cadillac “G” Tailpiece, pearl & ruby inlaid arrow volume & tone knobs & finally a proper gold arm rest & 3 back plates. This is an impossible feat today to make as most parts & bindings are unattainable. It’s the perfect guitar w/the look of a real White Penguin worth today north of $100K. available for a fraction of that cost. Its aging nicely w/some weather checking & discoloring of its finish & is ready for its next gig. Its excellent overall & comes in a 70’s Gretsch Duo Jet hard case.
