1979 7629 COMMITTEE BASS
Often thought of as a "fly-by-night" model, it is in fact a very useful model.
The 7629 COMMITTEE BASS was only produced for a short period of time from 1977 to 1981. 7629 COMMITTEE BASS features a three-piece walnut and maple neck with through-neck construction and excellent sustain. The body is also made of walnut and features a powerful mid-bass tone. The neck, while thinner than a precision bass, is thicker and slightly tapered, making it easy to grip and play. The bridge is equipped with a Badass II, which allows for fine octave pitch adjustment. Some may wonder if this bass is usable, given its appearance and the fact that it is a Gretsch bass. However, it is actually a hidden masterpiece that can be used.
