Description

This is a 1960 Gretsch Anniversary 6124, 100% original, a beautiful Near Mint example - hard to find in this condition! Comes in a newer well-built Canadian hard shell case in similar condition.

The Anniversary model is a single-cut hollowbody archtop, one pickup(Filtron), bound body, named for Gretsch's 75th anniversary. This is a nice simple design with the one pickup!

This guitar has been in storage for the past 20 years. The finish has very little checking - it has obviously been well taken care of over the years. The three-color sunburst is strong and vibrant.

The maple neck has some very attractive flame. The neck is a comfortable rounded profile with medium thickness, just right! There is hardly any fret wear, as found typically in the 3 country chord area.

The binding deterioration is confined to an out-of-the-way area at the top of the cutaway. It has been like that for the past 20 years with no worsening.

The guitar is loud unplugged and is lively and resonant when plugged in. I just set it up for low action - it plays and sounds great!

This is a very nice vintage (almost 60 years old) Gretsch for not much money; priced well below a typical new Gretsch guitar, all of which are made overseas these days.

Was $1500 Now $1200
