Here's a 1953 Gretsch Duo Jet in black finish. This is as early of a Duo Jet as it gets!! The first 150 or so Duo Jets had a script headstock, the first half of those had a fixed Melita bridge, and the first 20 or so had the Gretsch drum badge logo on the body!! Rare!! Besides the heel cap being changed, everything else on the guitar is original....including pots, wiring, hardware, Melita bridge, and DeArmond Dynasonic pickups. There's some binding repair, but all is in tact. The binding has turned brown in spots, but is not rotting like you find on later examples. The guitar plays incredibly well, with low action and a great neck angle. Lots of room in the bridge to go down for future adjustments. Super resonant as well. Both original DeArmond's are strong & full, with beautiful clarity. The guitar sounds fantastic!! What a special piece! OHSC included...

Weight- 7lbs 6oz
Nut Width- 1.708"
