Up for sale, a 2005 Gretsch G6119-1962HT Chet Atkins Tennessee Rose in excellent condition and perfect working order. Likely best known for its regular use by George Harrison throughout the Beatles legendary career, the Tennessee Rose is a reissue of the enduringly popular Tennessean and features a laminated, burgundy stained maple body, simulated F-holes, and a pair of Hilo'Tron pickups (hence the HT in the model designation). Hilo'Trons are essentially a single coil version of the Filter'Tron, known for their shimmering highs, mellow lows, and lively response, offering 3.4k of output in the neck position, and 3.8k of output in the bridge, helping the pickups keep their clarity and top end chime. Featherweight at 6lbs 12oz, with a Bigsby, this guitar balances well on a strap and the body resonates well against the body. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this guitar plays well with fresh strings and low action.

The neck has a medium C profile that borders on the slimmer side of things, with slender shoulders and an effortless, fast-playing feel. The 1 11/16" nut width keeps the neck feeling substantial and solid, with ideal string spacing for easy chording and accurate lead work. The rosewood fretboard sports white binding, neo-thumbnail inlays, a zero fret, and 22 vintage style frets that are nearly flawless, with only the faintest hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3, and virtually no wear up the neck. The guitar plays cleanly up the neck with no buzzing or dead spots, and the frets have well rounded crowns. The headstock an ivoroid inlaid Gretsch logo, as well as a set of Grover Sta-Tite open gear tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

The body sports white binding, simulated white on black F holes, a silver Tennessee Rose pickguard, a Bigsby B6C vibrato, and chrome hardware. Electronically, everything works as it should, with the Hilo'Tron pickups wired to a master volume, a volume for each pickup, a standby switch, a three-way pickup selector switch, and a three-position tone switch. All of the hardware is original including the stock "G" pointer knobs, Tennessee Rose pickguard, and rocking bar bridge. Cosmetically, this guitar has been extremely well cared for, with a lustrous, glossy finish and exactly one faint scratch in the clear coat on the back. Even the original protective plastic is still on the truss rod cover, and this pristine Gretsch shows no serious wear of any kind! The chrome hardware has incredible shine and only the faintest touch of surface patina on the edges of the pickup covers. This instrument borders on "near mint," and nails early '60s pop tones with an authenticity that you can't get with most other modern instruments.

The original Gretsch branded hardshell case is included.
