DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a fantastic and rare 1967 Gretsch Jet Firebird in its original red finish w/ black back and sides. I’ve always thought this one one of the cooler models Gretsch built in the late 1960s and this one rocks! The original pickups have a jangly and unique sound setting them apart from other pickup offerings from Gretsch throughout the 50s and 60s. Unlike most of the examples you see of these on the market this one has a factory Bigsby instead of the Burns tremolo typically seen on these. A previous owner swapped out the pots and switch closest to the tremolo and wired the guitar for vol / tone for each pickup and a 3 way switch, bypassing the master volume and additional switch on the bass side of the body. The original pots and switches are included. There is a decent amount of Gretsch “binding rot” and scattered dings, dents, play-wear and finish wear. This guitar rocks and would make a fine addition to any Gretsch collection. Pro setup in house and comes complete with a non original hard case.
