Up for sale is an absolutely stunning 1961 Gretsch PX 6120 Chet Atkins in its beautiful original transparent orange finish. This instrument features the desirable single cutaway fully hollow body with real F holes, Patent Number Filtertron pickups, Chet Atkins pickguard, Bigsby tremolo, ebony fingerboard with thumb-nail inlays. Overall this instrument is in excellent condition showing little signs of play or finish wear. The binding is in surprisingly great condition leading us to believe it may have been replaced. We all know this era of Gretsch instruments tend to show excessive binding wear and rot, this one does not. It’s possible it is original but we think it’s just too clean leading us to believe its replaced. This guitar was stored for several years without being played and thus has neck back-bow. To combat the back-bow the guitar has been setup in house with 13-56 strings and the truss rod backed off. This Gretsch sounds and plays great! Comes complete with its original hard case.
