Description

1960 Gretsch White Falcon Single Cut, Thin Body, Super rare version, equipped with a rare set of great sounding "Project-O-Sonic" Filtertron pickups with factory stereo wiring that separate the three pole pieces on the left side of each pickup from the three pole pieces on the right side of each pickup making a full active stereo set up that could be used with two separate amplifiers.
The White Falcon is loaded with a huge array of switches and knobs. The original Grover "Imperial" tuners have Two replaced tuner shafts. There are Gold sculpted pickup surrounds and a super clean Gold lucite pickguard with the Falcon motif, a roller bridge, Two Pearl and Ruby inlaid knobs & mute flippers. Of course it features the infamous cool breeze Cadillac "G" Tailpiece.
It has a beautiful super wide fingerboard that has "Neo-Classic" thumbprint inlays. The nut width is just over 1.75 inches. It weighs 9 lbs 3 oz.
This is one of the most unusual White Falcons taking in the very last of the single cutaway designs and the first of the double cutaway design features. i.e. ultra thin 1 7/8" body thickness, Double Flipper Mutes and the very first type Gretsch factory White vinyl back pad. We have never seen nor heard of one like this ever with these features! It may be the only one ever produced exactly like it.
This is one of the coolest, rarest and perhaps the last example of the most desirable single cutaway White Falcon's ever produced. It is the final iteration of the most sought after guitar in the World. The original White finish has yellowed with age having had some clear lacquer oversprayed by the original owner sometime in the late 90's around the headstock area where there was a minor repair. The yellowed patina has a beautiful appearance. Some pieces of Gold Sparkle body binding that have been replaced and restored as a few areas had crystallized a bit. This is one sweet and crazy rare original White Falcon! It is in excellent overall shape and comes with an original Gray hard case.
