Description

I've long been a fan of the work of Don Grosh, but I haven't had any of his guitars in stock in quite a while. Offered here is a Grosh Custom Carve Top T built back in 2003. After playing this instrument, I quickly remembered why I love Grosh guitars!

This model, which was built in both single and double cut configurations, was once at or near the top of the Grosh food chain. This solid body guitar has a Gibson 24.75" scale length and like an LP, it has a Mahogany body and neck along with a carved flame Maple arch top. The neck shape is Don's most popular, a Medium/Large C with depth measurements of .850" at the 1st fret increasing to .950" at the 12th fret. It has a lovely dark Indian Rosewood fretboard with a 12" radius, 1-11/16" bone nut and 6150 (medium) frets. The bridge is an intonatable wrap around model from Wilkinson. The electronics consist of two Lindy Fralin humbuckers, a master volume, master tone and a 3-way toggle switch. The guitar's total weight is just 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

The build quality on Grosh guitars is right up there with the instruments from Suhr and Collings. You get an extremely high quality guitar for your money. The quality of the materials used is exemplary and Don builds them one at a time.

This guitar feels and plays like a far more expensive instrument and sounds even better. Check out the provided sound sample - this guitar sounds divine!

While built 14 years ago, this beauty is in excellent minus condition, particularly for it's age. The only flaws of any significance are a couple of tiny dings on the top near the input jack (see photo). The frets are remain in very good shape with lots of life remaining. It comes in it's original G&G case which is also in very good condition. The original Wilkinson wrap-around bridge was showing a bit of chrome plating wear, so I installed a new one, but the original bridge is included in the case.

If a very-high quality humbucking instrument at a great price interests you, then this beautifully preserved instrument from Don Grosh deserves your consideration. A superb guitar indeed!
