Offered for sale;

Used 1970 Guild D-40NT Bluegrass Jubilee serial number AJ3412.

This guitar is in good condition, neck angle and frets are fine. The tone is very resonant and alive. It appears the bridge was slightly shaved and pick guard reglued at some point. It has a new bridge plate. Action is spot on.

Cosmetically there are marks and nicks and some finish wear. The finish is also worn through on some areas of the back of the neck and the back and above the sound hole.

The Guild D-40 NT (Natural Top), early models of the D-40 (and now reissues) also named Bluegrass Jubilee. Featuring a dreadnought shape with a long scale, Sitka spruce top, x-bracing, and solid Mahogany back and sides. Unlike some other Guilds, the back is braced, solid, and flat rather than press-arched and laminate. This a key ingredient that gives it more of a "classic dreadnought" tone.

The D-40 NT’s mahogany neck is topped with an Indian rosewood fingerboard and is joined to the body with an authentic dovetail joint. This dreadnought is appointed with a tortoiseshell pickguard, rosette, and binding, a Guild peak on the headstock, and nickel-plated open gear tuners.

These early Guild dreadnought guitars are great sounding instruments. The have a significant place among the aficionados. Don’t forget Richie Havens at Woodstock!

Hard-shell case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
