1981 Guild F-40 SB w/original hard case EXCELLENT

SN. FC100284...one owner, all original including hard case and case candy (original Guild owner's manual, vintage bottle of Ax Wax polish, case key, capo and tuning fork). The back and sides are solid maple, the top solid spruce and the neck is 3 piece maple and rosewood.  The fretboard and bridge are rosewood. The guitar is in excellent condition with no cracks, damage, repairs or significant wear. There are two or three minor top dings in the finish but that's about the only sign that the guitar was ever played or handled. The finish on the neck, sides and carved back is virtually spotless. The frets show minimal to no wear. The original (Brazilian) rosewood bridge is secure to the top and full height, never cut or otherwise molested. All of the interior bracing is secure and in good shape. The neck is straight under tension and the truss rod functions properly, the neck angle is good. The action is set at 6.5/64" at the low E and 5/64" at the high E with 3/32" of saddle showing. The guitar has a big, balanced sound. Sound file available soon on request. The original hardshell case is in excellent condition on the inside, the lining is free from tears, wear or odors (and pet hair!). The tolex exterior is likewise intact. The latches and hinges show some surface corrosion and the main bail latch no longer functions, but the other four latches do and are sufficient to secure the lid. The handle is present and secure. $1800 plus shipping within the US. NYS buyers add 8% sales tax. US shipping only, no international shipping available on this item. I will not ship to overseas buyers using a forwarding service. Sound file available soon.
