I lost a 37-year dear friend to cancer last year and in his will he left me his 2 basses and bass rig. Since we were both bass players, we used to sit in a corner at parties trading licks until our wives came over and yelled at us. My friend Jack was a solid, non-flashy player who was steady and consistent in his performances, playing, and stage appearances. A true Pro and I miss him terribly...

As to this Guild Pilot, it was his second and main bass. He liked the light weight and great tone from the EMG's. It's effortless to play and served my friend well for many years. I mixed sound for his band several times over the years and this Pilot sounded great, gig after gig. He would run this bass into his little Peavey Minx amp and I had his tone dialed-in in no time, every time.

Now, you may be asking why I am selling Jack's basses and the answer is this; His brother, Billy is disabled and whatever money is left after fees, shipping, etc will go to him. It may not be much, but a little of something is better than a lot of nothing and every bit helps. This SB602 is a solid, dependable, and professional-grade bass with a rich, honest history- I'm sure it will once again be a loyal bass for someone out there that knows what these basses do and wants a fine and dependable example of a Pilot.

It's a glossy red bass, so it shows its years of service quite clearly. There are a lot of bumps, dings, surface scratches, doinks and some light playwear on it, but it has been well taken care of and has been detailed, restrung with fresh strings and will arrive ready to play. The original case is in very good condition and has also been detailed.

Please take a look at the photos, let us know if you have any questions and as always, we thank you for stopping by!
