Description

Summary: Built in Hoboken, NJ, to compete with Gibson’s ES-225, this T-100D, otherwise known as the Guild “Slim Jim”, sports two cream covered Franz-designed P-90 style pickups on a thin-line maple body with a Venetian cutaway.

Body: Maple body with dual f-holes and single Venetian cutaway. 16” wide, 2” deep. Arched top and back. Three-ply binding on top. Natural nitrocellulose finish.

Neck: One-piece mahogany with a medium C shape. Guild “Chesterfield” logo inlaid on headstock. Bound rosewood fretboard with 20 frets and small dot markers. 1-11/16" nut. 24-3/4" scale.

Pickups/Hardware: 2 “dogear” P-90-style Franz-designed single coil pickups with cream covers. Harp tailpiece, adjustable rosewood bridge, gold top-hat volume and tone knobs, nickel Grover tuners (replacements). Guild “V” logo on pickguard.

Cosmetics: The natural finish on this guitar has mellowed to a satiny gold patina that looks and feels amazing. There is some play wear the finish on the back, but overall it is in very good condition with little noticeable checking. The headstock logo veneer has shrunk and been re-glued at some point as is common for Guild’s of this age. The veneer is not entirely smooth but has not crumbled or cracked.

Playability: The C shape neck is slim and comfortable. The frets have little wear and the guitar plays great with no noticeable fretting out or buzzing. There a few small digs on the fretboard right at the first fret. The single coil pickups are a bit brighter than Gibson P90s, adding some nice definition to the warmth of the neck position and a punchy growl to the bridge.

Mods/Repairs: Replacement Grover tuners.

Weight: 6 lbs, 7 oz.

Case: Original hard shell case.
