Superb Gurian Jumbo made in the Grand Street New York factory in 1972.Gurian was one of the first "boutique" guitar makers; influenced by the classic vintage guitars of the past century, hand-made using craftsmanship and materials of the highest quality.
This was their top of the line instrument at the time - Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood sides & 3 piece back, herringbone binding, gold tuners.
The neck was reshaped by Wes Brandt around '2000; in the process he
inadvertently lifted the ā€œGā€ off the headstock, and replaced it with a
mother of pearl inlay. The original Schaller tuners were replaced with
Gotoh several years back. It has a K&K Trinity pickup installed by
Pioneer Music (2 piezos and a microphone).
Some light scratches around the sound hole and a couple of minor finish dings on the top, otherwise it has lighter than average play wear and a wonderful warm vintage patina. This is a fantastic guitar with a very big, evenly balanced tone across the spectrum.
It looks, plays and sounds great!
Includes SKB hard case.
