Here is something a little different that's just landed on consignment. A 1962 Hagstrom De Luxe EDP46 in its original black finish with lucite pearloid fingerboard!

This model is significant due to being among the first few mass produced export European made electric guitars, with this model being introduced in 1958 after the company made exclusively accordians.

The P46 in the model designation refers to the double single coil pickup system, which act very similar to humbuckers from Gibson at the time. The unusual control layout allows for different pickup systems to be interchanged easily as its one unit. Each pickup can be activated separately, each having their own volume, as well as a bypass switch with its own volume thumbwheel.

The guitar features a hardwood semi-hollow construction with a hard plastic body shell. The bolt on neck also has no adjustable truss-rod, having an aluminium bar to stabilise any neck movement which has held perfectly for the last 60+ years.

As you can see, this example is in incredibly good condition for its age. There are some dings and light scuffs to the body, and some separation of the binding below the pickguard area. Otherwise the guitar remains in totally original condition and plays great having just had a professional setup.

As apart of the package, this guitar was also featured in a 2019 feature of Vintage Guitar Magazine when its current owner lived in Nashville, a copy is included in the sale.

A very preserved example of a tough to find model, includes its original Gigbag with lesson book and some great case candy.
